Engine Rating - Varren Maritime Academy

This is a 3 Months Pre-Sea Training for Engine Rating that one can pursue right after 10th. Students are trained in Engine maintenance including Engine Watch jobs as well as maintenance of engine room machinery and other associated technical jobs during the course of their training. Training includes subjects like English & Etiquette, Health Hazards & Personal Safety, Ships & Shipping Industry, usage of Life Saving Appliances & Fire Fighting Appliances, Safe Working Practices on in Engine Room, First Aid, Ship’s Maintenance, and Basic Environmental Protection. Students are given hands on training on all aspects of good seamanship practices. 

We provide STCW 2010 approved by DG Shipping (Govt. of India) and an Indian CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate). After completion of the training an exam will be conducted and successful candidates are eligible to Join the Vessel to Complete the Onboard training. 

Eligibility Criteria Qualification: Minimum 10th passed from a recognized board. 

Age: Between 17 to 25 years at the time of course commencement 

Minimum Height: 157 cm 

Minimum Weight: 48 Kg 

Eyesight: 6/6 in both eyes (unaided vision). No Color blindness.

Medical: Candidates should be physically and medically fit, as per current DG Shipping norms.
